Somos PAC Responds to Kamala Harris’s Selection of Governor Tim Walz as Her Vice Presidential Running Mate

(August 6, 2024) – Today, Somos PAC, which with runs some of the largest Latino civic and voter engagement programs in the country, released the following statement from Founder and President Melissa Morales on Vice President Kamala Harris selecting Governor Tim Walz as her vice presidential pick:

And it's why Somos PAC is proud to continue supporting Vice President Harris, as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, and now Gov. Tim Walz, as the Party's vice-presidential nominee. ”
“As Governor of Minnesota, Gov. Walz put working people first by pledging more than $2.3 billion in public education funding, expanded drivers license access regardless of immigration status, and supported Latino small business owners post-pandemic.”
"Recent polling points to a growing wave of excitement for Vice President Harris among Latinos voters in battleground states and Somos PAC fully intends to do the work on the ground and online to turn that excitement into votes and those votes into more economic opportunities for our communities.
